Start with authorization
Remote access should only be started with the authorization of the workshop or customer responsible for the host computer. The on-site technician should know when a support session is active and what task is being performed.
Privacy Screen is a session presentation control
Privacy Screen is intended to keep the local host display covered during supported remote work where that capability is enabled. It does not replace authorization, access control or workshop policy.
File transfer is an explicit support capability
Move only the files required for the support task. Logs, approved configuration files and job-specific support material should remain tied to the actual case rather than being copied broadly.
Keep account and entitlement state visible
4Desk exposes account and entitlement state in the application so the technician can understand which session tools are available. Treat that visible state as part of the support workflow rather than relying on assumptions.
Security documentation scope
This page describes the public 4Desk workflow at a product level. It does not replace your organization's access policy, customer authorization requirements or the security documentation of third-party diagnostic and programming tools.
